Robert Bingaman (American, lives and works in Humbolt, Kansas)

Bingaman received a B.F.A. from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and an M.F.A. from Washington University, St. Louis, MO.  His paintings are frequently landscapes, luminous and mysterious, and at once both personal and universal.  His “Pool” series has been especially sought after and transform geometric forms of swimming pools into abstractly glowing and somewhat archetypical forms.  Like a memory that one can’t quite grasp, these images linger and project a sense of knowingness and nostalgia that are unforgettable.  Bingaman has had solo exhibitions at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Overland Park, KS; Studios, Inc. in Kansas City, Haw Contemporary in Kansas City, and has also been a featured artist in New American Paintings (2015).  His paintings are in the collection of the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Emprise Bank, Lockton Companies, KPMG, and many others.
